The White House: Trump will not change the decision on the withdrawal of troops from Syria
US President Donald Trump will not change his decision on the withdrawal of American troops from Syria, despite the resignation of Pentagon chief James Mattis and other high-ranking officials, Acting Chief of Staff of the White House, Mike Malvani told ABC.
Responding to a question about the possibility of changing Trump’s policy on this issue, Malvani answered in the negative. “No, I believe that the president from the very beginning told the people that he does not want us to stay in Syria forever. You see the end result of two years of work,” said Malvani on the TV channel.
The White House announced on December 18 that the US began withdrawing troops from Syria, but a victory over the ISIL does not mean the end of the existence of the coalition.
