Trump has declared about the "excellent letter" from the leader of North Korea
US President Donald Trump said that he received from the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un a “excellent letter”, and said that in the near future they plan to hold a second meeting. The American leader told this on January 2 during a meeting with journalists at the White House, reports Bloomberg.
The US President stressed that if this were not so, he would not have met with the head of the DPRK last year, and in Asia there would have been a “big war” raging. Details about the content of letter Trump did not give.
A day earlier, in an address to the nation, Kim Jong-un warned that US policy might force him to look for a “different path” towards denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
We recall that the first meeting of Trump and Kim Jong-un was held on June 12, 2018 in Singapore.
Following the talks, the parties signed a joint document, according to which the United States provides security guarantees to the DPRK, and North Korea undertakes to denuclearize.
